I am giving a vacuum packed, home raised Frankenchicken, a 2# pkg. of fresh home raised hamburger, a dozen eggs, and several different varieties of homemade jelly (those tiny jars) for Christmas.
Local farmer just offered 22 meat chickens-7 weeks. Should I get them?

Why not a frozen chicken as a Christmas gift? I see nothing wrong with that!

Hey, thanks for the info everyone. And I'm going to post the chicken as christmas gift as a new post to see if others are doing it. How would you wrap it? with a big red bow?

I roasted my first meatie, and though it was very tender and succulent, it just didn't have the flavor of my RIR and BO young roosters. Interesting lesson learned about "what makes a better eatin' chicken".
