Local Hatcheries in Ventura County, CA, USA

I am looking for Barred Rock Chicks here in Ventura County California but cannot find anyone local online. Just comes up with online hatcheries that have 15 chick minimums and i only want 4-6.

Any recommendations?

There are problems and quarantines right now in LA county (Maybe more locations) due to poultry illness. However, to find hatcheries or breeders near you, then look here:

I agree to just sit tight until the Newcastle threat is resolved. Yes the restricted area is 50 miles away but that's nothing in terms of bird migration. LAX is part of the restricted area so no chicks can be shipped in either. Feed stores will not have any chicks until this passes. Later on if you can't find the breeds you want, order an assortment of 25 and sell the extras on CL. You won't have any trouble selling them especially if you grow them to 5-6 weeks and get them off heat. Lots of people are having to postpone chicks.
Knowing that area quite well, I can't recall there ever being a sizable breeder anywhere around there.

I believe Dare2DreamFarms.com is making live chick deliveries to Healthy Pet in Newbury Park/Thousand Oaks.

They only seem to have black sexlink chicks right now, but you can get barred rocks that are coop ready (6-8wks).

I’m in the same boat. Finding chicks in SoCal is close to impossible right now with the Newcastle quarantine.
