Locating BOSS that won't break the bank

Not sure if its right, but mine get BOSS straight from the bag and still in the shell.

I wasn't sure at the time if it was a good deal, then remembered how much it was at the feed store. LOL Decided to buy them out. It was three months ago and I got 40lb bags for $6. They only had 3 bags left, but it was near the wild bird feed at ACE

I almost put the first bag back, because I was too broke to use the money for it and then thought how dumb that would be. I would have had to spend lots more for the same size and only get one bag and I really needed it. Wish I could find more deals like that on BOSS and anything else I can use for my birds. Or rabbits. Or dogs. OR KIDS! LOL

If I only had $6.00 in my purse and my car was on EMPTY with little gas, I would buy the BOSS and call someone to come and pick me up.

How do they digest it with the shells on? Do you find BOSS shells in their poop? My kids really like the hulled seeds, medium chips. i mix it in with their scratch in the morning. It's maybe a 10% mix of boss to scratch, but sometimes the budget doesn't allow it for a month so they just get the scratch. i was thinking i would love to find it cheaper. By cheaper, i mean less than what i'm paying which is $59 for a 50# bag. They sell the 20# bags for $30. Sounds like i would be better off buying it in the shell and shelling them myself.

checked the feed store I was at today to pick up my DE and their BOSS was $43.95 for 40lbs INSANE!!!!

Has anyone tried growing any brand yet sold in the stores? I don't have any or I would try it. Not sure when I will have the money, and our weather is still terrible. We are getting freezing rain right now as I type this. Also, the only place that sells it where I live is TSC.

the ones that fell out of the bucket when filling the chickies bowl sprouted and then the chickens ate the young tender sprouts when they were out free ranging in the backyard... I do have a few that are growing in between the fence and the run. Hope they mature, only time will tell.
