I set eggs in the evening of Sun. June 2nd. That means that they should hatch in the evening of June 23rd (you know give or take blah blah).

I have to go out of town on Wed, Thursday and Friday of this week. I'll be back late on Friday around 11 pm.

Should I stop the turner 5 days before hatch or 2 days before hatch? I've read a thread where someone went into lockdown on day 16 without bad results.

To complicate things, I have a few eggs I set two days later in there as well. just some barnyard mixes i wanted to hatch from my flock. But they are disposable compared to the 42 purebred eggs I have in there.

Will continued movement for the extra day make it harder for them to orient and hatch? Or should I stop a little early?

What would you do?

PS. Please don't offer some off question advice like I'd have someone come over to check the incubator the days your gone. It is what it is. I'm just trying to figure out the best solution.

Thanks for the help.

Since my best friend is out of town caring for her dying mother, I had my hubby rearrange his work so instead of being out of town for 3 days to remove bees from my mothers estate I can be gone for only 1 day which means now I don't need to worry.

It is still an interesting question but dead thread now.
