I have hatched eggs before and always stopped turning 3 days prior to hatch. Never had any trouble. Im now reading about "lock down" at day 18. Can anyone tell me what this is?

Lock down is when you stop turning your eggs, for chicken eggs it would be day 18. You need to let the chick settle and get in a good position to hatch.

Humm Everything I read even the directions that came with the incubator says, stop turning 3 days prior. So this is all new to me. Thank you for filling me in

Chickens hatch in 21 days, so 3 days prior would be day 18.
