All right so today is day 17 for my chicks Or rather tonight is day 17 anyway I have some questions first off I put them in February the 21st so tomorrow night I put them in lockdown in the nurture right 360 I know I have to Take the egg tray out but do I unplug the egg turner as well also so say I have some chick still hatching in one check is completely fluffy and dried out how do I get it out without the others being shrink-wrapped this is my first time I think that’s obvious but do I have to like get the humidity back up super super quick or do I should I just wait till they’re all fluffy or at least out of the shell I’m confused please help me before they start the pit expected hatch date is Sunday the 14th there is one lavender Orpington 2 olive eggers and to Marans. And two cream legbars

Pretty sure I forgot to unplug it but you could.

Simple answer is don't open your lid to prevent shrink wrapping. If you MUST, then dangle towels, blankets, etc around your arms and lid to keep temp/humidity more stable during this period.. I do it in other bators.. but the 360 hatch surface allow too much space for other eggs or chicks to be knocked out.. so I sold mine after the first use. It's best to wait until they are all fluffy.. but if you have one that hatches way earlier than the other OR others are all fluffy but you see one or two straggling a DAY behind, pipped but others need to come out sooner then later.. ALWAYS use YOUR best judgement.

Best wishes and happy hatching! :jumpy:jumpy

If you have to take the chicks out, have a warm spray bottle with you, after removing the chicken shoot a couple of mist in the incubator then cover. Have your brooder and supplies ready before they hatch. So it's a simple transition.

I'm not familiar with your incubator, but eggs should not be turned during lock down. I have an egg Turner I take out. It is understandable that you are confused about taking out chicks verses never open the incubator. Some take chicks out immediately while other don't open the incubator until all have hatched. I do a middle ground. I remove chicks about every 24 hours. When I open the incubator I make sure the humidity does not drop by having the shower running. Others have made suggestions that might work better depending on the location of the incubator.
