one egg has a little hole poked through!! and i was up late because of a possum outside, was gonna go to bed !!

i want to help it.. i can see its beak, the membrane looks really dry. i dont want to loose any. not sure what to do. i have read posts all evening, and there are some who help out alot.. that is my first instinct.. why take a chance on loosing them? not sure what to do.

Well i helped it out. i was so afraid that the humidity wasnt high enough and it would die in its shell. i opened the hole a little and went to bed. i woke up at 4 and checked it and it didnt seem to be moving much so i helped it. After that, i read all about "helping" and came to realize that it needed to do it itself to gain strength. There was no blood or yolk so that was a plus. i left it in the bator and went to bed. When i got up, 3 or so hours later, it had moved around the bator and i was afraid it would turn the other eggs so i took it out. it is still very weak, although it is dry and somewhat active, but still not standing. i dipped its beak in warm water w/ electolites that came w/ a shipment of chicks i bought a few weeks ago. I feel like i gave it a rough start and now realize it was wrong to help it. but now i am so worried since it has been in the brooder for several hours and still doesnt stand. when i hold it it moves around ok, it just cant seem to get its legs under it. i guess i got scared because i read that guineas hatch easily and "pop" out. I am also now worried about the 9 eggs still in the bator, since i opened it several times to help this chick. i have sponges, have misted, and the hygrometer reads 68%. is there anything more i can do to help this chick?

He is definately perking up. He is not on his side, but not standing either, but he moves all around the tote i have him in. i ran to TS real quick and bought a quail water base, and vitamin/electrolyte pack, and every so often i will dip his beak. he seemed interested in the crumbles for a minute, maybe i should crush them up? Meanwhile, i have 2 more pips in the bator.. NOT OPENING IT... I know im not out of the woods yet, but I feel hopeful. Gonna try to steal some AA batteries out of the remote or a toy so i can get a picture of him on here. Its gonna be a long day. just as i typed this HE STOOD UP.

here he is... i think.. hopefully i did this right. he is alot stronger, but doesnt seem to want to drink on his own, or eat. i am really worried about the other ones. i thought i saw 2 pips but when i looked closer the shell isnt broken. i did hear some peeps earlier. i hope i didnt ruin this.

she is running around the cardboad box like crazy. shes lonely though. and i am so worried about the others. technically, i set them at 9pm at night, so it is still Day 28...but i read posts all day yesterday and so many horror stories about humidity issues. there IS another pip this morning. but just one. i had alot of flucuation yesterday with the humidity as it was a very hot day. i had to open bator quickly to add more water. i have 4 sponges, a maxi pad, and water in the troughs, and there still isnt much condensation, the hygrometer is reading 69% but im not sure how accurate it is. i hear peeping but it sounds fainter than yesterday. it is so hard not to just try to help, but the chick i helped was SO weak for hours and hours, its a wonder he made it. Wish i knew what to do. If anyone has and suggestions, please let me know.
