Lockdown Hatching Completed - NEW PHOTOS ADDED

Whats the RH in the house/room where your bator is? Do you have more that one hygrometer in the bator so you are sure that the humidity is too high (I usually keep 2 or 3 in there). Been raining a lot where you are causing RH in your area to be high?

Since you just locked down today and I assume there are no pipped eggs, you could always open it up and use the corner of a towel or washcloth to soak up some water from one of the trays

You will need to reduce the surface area of water so reducing water in the smaller water well might be easiest. If you go TOO far and the humidity gets too low, you can always wet a sponge, cloth, etc and toss it in there to increase it again

Best of luck!!

Hmmm, it IS raining now and the air IS damp. I only have one, a very good one, temperature/hygrometer measuring device, and it's in the incubator. I've a strong feeling that you might have hit on the problem though, that being that the house's humidity is up. That's the only thing that makes sense. I'll leave the plug out, and see what happens tomorrow. Like you said, I do have time to remove water from one of the wells if I have to.

It's 6:00 P.M. and things are starting to look hopeful. The humidity has dropped to 76%, but the red plug is still totally out. I'm thinking that tomorrow the humidity will be in the 60's like Scott said it would.

EDIT:
It's 7:20 P.M. and it is down to 70% with the red plug out. I just now put the red plug back in to see if it will go down to mid-60's on its own by tomorrow morning.

Looks like everything's going to be alright humidity wise. Like I said above about 7:20 P.M.'s humidity being 70%. When I went to bed after 11:00 P.M., it was still at 70%.

Today, Wednesday, it is now 5:15 A.M., and the humidity is still 70%.
Now the wait in the maternity section begins to see what tomorrow brings. Thanks, everyone.

GOOD DEAL!! Now we look forward to seeing "baby pictures"

Good luck!!!

I just checked at 7 P.M. (Wednesday). The humidity is now 68%, BUT all of a sudden I could hear tiny little peeping sounds. Betcha there'll be some early in the morning. There aren't any holes in the shells though. Maybe I should start smoking again.

We're on day 28, humidity is under control and we're just waiting...We have one that's showing signs of "staining" from the inside, I'm hoping it's indicative of a broken membrane and being close to pipping...Good luck!
