Hi,

We have just ticked over to day 20 and the humidity won't go under 80% I've tried clearing the hole and reducing the water but it refuses to go down And now an egg has pipped so I'm really not keen on opening the lid.

What are your experienced thoughts please?

Should I lift the lid take the water container out and put a smaller one in (will take a few minutes! As the water is under the tray)

Will 80% humidity affect the last stage of the hatch?
The first 17 days were around 25-30% as I dry incubate

80% is fine for hatching. Doubley so because of the dry hatching. It always goes up when they start to pip. Then jumps higher again when they hatch out.

What water container are you talking about? I don’t see a clear source in your pics. Open water where the chick can get to it is very concerned. They are disoriented and clumsy for a few hours after they hatch.

The water container is under the tray.
I have the eggs in a cheap basket on top of the hatching tray as I've lost chicks before from them falling down the back of the hatching tray.
I pulled one water container out, I forgot I had 2 in there 😅 but it is still sitting at 75% 😑 4 more have pipped so 75% will have to do 😂
