Lockdown in 2 days

That's why I'm setting tonight. I was so excited to get my Brinsea that I loaded it on a Monday. I'm shooting for weekend hatches from now on. It's hard to watch the first time. Seems like an eternity from the first pip to the first hatch, but then it picks up steam. Good luck

Yea a weekend hatch is always good. I also didn't go because I got sick yesterday but today I'm a bit better. Hopefully I'll be good before they come out. But thanks again I'm sure tonight is going to be a long night.

You guys are both doing great. Final update on mine. Set 22, 16 hatched fine, the one that pipped Wednesday night died in the shell. Another was pipped yesterday morning. No progress when I got home last night, so I decided to help her out, something I really wasn't wild about doing. The membrane had stuck to the side of her head, but everywhere else was still lubricated. I got her out cleanly and left her in the incubator all night. This morning she was standing and chirping, so I put her in the brooder with the others. No splayed legs, but toes were a little crooked. If they aren't straight by the time I get home, I will make her some sandals for a few days. The Polish that was splayed is doing better. I still have her strapped, and she is standing and walking better. Maybe after a few days I can remove the strap. So that left me with 17 of 22.
I did the eggtopsy this morning. Of the 5 remaining, 3 were totally infertile, and 2 were fully formed, but no pip. One was in the wrong end of the egg. I'm calling that a result of 17/19 I am setting another batch tonight. I think on this go around I am going to lower my humidity to 35% for the first 18 days. I didn't mark my air cells last time, but I think the pip and zips were too close to the end of the egg. I incubated those at 40-42%. I'm going to dry it out a little and see if that helps.

I think for winter hatching you did awesome! Congrats!

Update day 22.

All 23 eggs that made it to lockdown have hatched and are alive and well!!!!

BonRae67- congrats on your newest chick!!!

Scflock- congrats on your hatch. I'm sorry the last two didnt make it! :( I have some eggs that hopefully will be shipped end of the week so those are what will be in my incubator next.

Now, if I can get help to figure out. Which chicks may be the wyandotte ee cross.

Northern...great looking flock there!

@purpletie3 I keep missing them coming out of the shell. :( It is nice to go in and have a new baby. Wow 80 are they all for you?

I hope you get to see one...
Considering my luck with hatching in a freezing cold, drafty, dry, old farm house...if 10 hatch I will be happy.

I just ordered like 5 auctions worth of eggs. Most are only 6 egg orders...but, they are taking like 6 days to get here. And we are at zero.

I had my heart set on some cheeseburgers...LKA spangled hamburgers and they arrived today. One cracked and all of them except one had a detached air cell. Honestly, I could cry.

I have another bunch from here I am stalking the post office on...maybe tomorrow. :(

Wow all these people having baby chicks. I have 14 in my Bator which I feel non might hatch. Today is day 20 and still nothing. Tomorrow they will hopefully start to pip. Maybe tonight. Congrats on everyone's hatch.
Thank you Mike. Hopefully you will start to see something soon.
