Yes, good luck. I'm on day 20 with some shipped Crested Polish and an Austrolorp egg.

Edit:

We have a pip! We have a pip in the Austrolorp egg!!!!

Woo hoo!!!

Wish me luck on the other biddies, I'd LOVE to get 6 out of the 12.

sending everyone good hatching vibes. I am also on day 20 on 17 eggs from my girls and have two pips as of this morning. I have been cleaning pens all day so I am not tempted to open it for any reason.
Good luck everyone

no not yet but i am not giving up until day 25. Now the one with the crack i posted baout earlier has another crack down the other side now. Is it busting out like the HULK? Can they hatch like that cause i see feathers!

They can but it's gonna be a hard push. Did the egg pip at all? Is the membrane split? You may have to give a little help by perforating the membrane some so that it has room to breath and it isn't so hard to split, just don't get carried away. I guess this one already has a name, huh?

There are 2 chicks out now!!! Yay!!! I really hope that either the silkie egg or goldies egg will hatch though.. (Goldie is my favorite chicken.. i love her so much!

Well this one cracked several days ago, everyone said leave it! IMy husband said it looks like there is another crack going down the other side. I can't tell if membrane is split??? I haven't opened the bator to look, i am scared to! Sould i open it up and check, they say not to do that....

No pipping or chirping and no movement from it....been checking every hour

I can only tell you what I do and you have to decide but first I have a couple of questions. What incubator, how do you add water, and do you know what the humidity is running? Do you have something to candle with?

Now, if an egg has pipped or even started zipping and has made no progress for several days I try to listen for signs of life, check the membrane for drying, and usually start giving a little help by finishing the zip including perforating the membrane. It usually helps to moisten the membrane with a damp cloth, eye dropper, etc. because most of the time the chick is stuck to it. Be careful not to drown the chick and try and let it do most of the work like lifting the 'lid' and kicking out of the shell. Just know going in that you win some, you lose some. (I usually look at it like I was going to lose all of them if I did nothing anyway.) I have had some chicks that I've helped do better than some that I thought were 'healthy' chicks that hatched on their own and are now producers.

Whatever you decide, best of luck and don't give up after one bad experience.
