It's so hard to stay away, QuirkySue!!! I kept hearing the chirps, but I never saw any pipping. I checked them again this morning at 1:30 and then 4;30 before I came into work & still nothing... Then I went home at 10 this morning to let the chickens out and check the eggs and there were TWO babies in there going all over the place!!! I'm not too proud to admit that I cried.
That's fantastic, HappyBC!!! Congrats to you, too!! Mine are both black so far, but they both have some yellow around their necks and on their bellies. I just ran back home again and saw another egg with an external pip in it. When I go home yet again, I'll move the first two to the brooder box and fix all the eggs they've knocked all over the place. They've turned a bunch of them upside down. :/
I am so happy for the both of you! This is awesome! I can't wait until my chicks hatch. I have eight on the 3rd day....... So excited! We are soposed to have a snow storm tomorrow.................... oh no..... I really hope the power doesn't go out. That would be soooooo bad! Remember to keep posting pictures!
