I'm going to make my 3rd donation in October. I'm due in November and I always donate before I have a baby because long hair is a hassle when the babies are little. My hair is past my hips and down to the top of my thighs now, so I'm overdue for a donation but I want to let it get as long as possible for Locks of Love.
Thanks all! I find it a helpful way to honor my mother's memory on the anniversary of her death instead of wallowing in self pity for the day (which I will probably do a bit of anyway.
I've donated 30+ inches and I plan to cut it off again in a couple of weeks. Still trying to decide if I should just take off 3 inches, and cut it all off (to donate) this winter so that it won't have as many split ends.
I've seen how they make those wigs. Quite tedious.
OMG is right that's a lot of hair. my DD is 11(almost 12) and she donated 11 and a half inches. it was her first donation. my hair doesn't grow fast enough(and is pretty short now) otherwise id do it.
