Lola's outside and walking normally! YAY!!!!

I almost lost my hen Bella a few months ago. I came home from work and she couldn't walk anymore and she looked like the other chickens tried to attack her while she was down. I was going to cull her, I even took her to my friends house so he could shoot her, but when we got to my friends house she looked better and she was able to even stand. He said she's got a strong soul and she wants to live. I told him there was no way I could kill her now so I took her back home and nursed her back to full health and she laying eggs again too.

I asked the vet about the vitamins today in her water and showed him what I got at TSC...he said it was ok to use but it didn't have any B vitamins in it...I guess that's why he gave her the B12 shot.

That is a great suggestion to use the dropper...I've been using my finger. Poor girl is totally naked today...everything but her wings...she looks like a little homeless, ragamuffin chicken. I think she lost the rest of her body feathers at the vet...you should have seen the exam room when we left...feathers EVERYWHERE.

You can do it Lola!

I know what it's like to have sick chickens, having a Marek's survivor is big. Large Fowl chickens are good fighters and will listen to you.

Sweet little Lola is still hanging in there! She happily ate some hard boiled egg this am and stood up a couple of times. I just don't know if she's drinking..it's warm room so I can't really judge by how much is gone...not much is gone anyway. I've been putting drops on her beak just in case.

I officially have the BEST chicken in the world! Lola drank her medicine right from the (needleless) syringe! Didn't have to grab her and hold her down or anything! She friggin ROCKS!

Thanks guys! How about another miracle? Just noticed another hen not quite up to par. Not as bad as Lola and no but dragging. She's just a bit slow, kind of puffed up and tail down...Since the B12 seemed to help Lola...how do I get B vitamins in Nugget without having to go back to vet and pay a 35 bucks for the shot? Any ideas?

Of course! Here is my sweet girl in her hospital room....as you can see she's made a mess. I had newspaper down but it wasn't soft enough for her little bare bottom or warm enough so I stole one of my dogs blankets and put it in there. She really likes it.
