I drove through Cold Water once.... I was living south of Fort Wayne that summer. You could almost do it in a day to Colorado, but I wouldn't advise it.

A couple of times I drove straight through from Milwaukee to Salt Lake. Not smart!

Hi Ang. Thanks, but no thank you. I said I would not have chicks in the house this winter and I am sticking to it. One loner is not "chicks".

I haven't hatched my eggs yet but my cousins had chicks and told me stuff. They told me to put them in a nice warm place with a light and blanket. Then just let them go to sleep. Hope this helps!!

I'm weird, but animals seem to like that. I'd probably find a comfy pouch or make one out of felt, shaped like a little nest, and keep her around my neck, maybe inside my shirt where she'd stay warm and feel like she's under a hen. I bet she'd like that best.

Well it's funny you say that....cause well in the evening she does watch tv with us curled up in my shirt on my lap. So cute! She is going to be sooooo spoiled. I tried to make her a nest last night out of a sock. ( ya know how little boys take off their socks and it rolls up into a doughnut shape)...well she would never get in it and sleep. So I keep trying to make her a warm cuddly place to sleep and she insists on not using it. But she does like my lap!

It's probably safe to say one would not be spoiling her to let her sleep in your lap. After all, I'm sure she naturally desires the warmth and comfort of a mama hen to look after her and now she sees you as her mama hen. She wants to stay warm and be protected. I guess that's the lure of warmth--protection. If anything she'll simply end up being very tame and friendly while still getting along with other chickens.
