Lone Duck

Hi everyone - I'm reallly worried about this lone duck in our area. We have lot's of ducks in the area and I noticed a bunch of them - male and female - picking on another female duck this week. Now I see her a lot all by herself. What can I do to help her? I read ducks get lonely and depressed. it makes me sad

Are you seeing wild ducks? There can be many reasons for duck behaviors. The loan female may not be from the group that you saw with her. I watched a lone grebe on a pond for months in the spring, until it was gone. It likely joined other grebe passing overhead as the pond was reasonably safe.

But you cannot intervene unless a duck is injured. Nature can be cruel. We cannot change that
