She/he is set up in a brooder in my dining room so I pass her all the time. She peeps non stop until she sees me, then she runs over to the brooder wall to get my attention. I gave her one of my sons old stuffed toys and she loves it.

How precious , she really needs a mirror that way she will know she is a duck and will be able to accept the new babies better, right now all she sees is humans no ducks. The mirror will keep her company too.

Ill have to go out and get her one. The wife didnt have any laying around that I could "borrow". And, I already got "the look" when she saw my sons monkey in there. Oh, well.

Geez. Ive called every feed store in tampa. Nobody has ducklings yet. Bad timing huh?

I wish I was closer I have a whole box of stuffed animals I buy them at thrift stores. even my goslings loved the big stuffed bear I put in their brooder they could climb under it and it was like their mama for a couple weeks. Those large bird mirrors they sell for parrots would be good, yep don't want to take the wife's mirror.

Well you didn't know you were going to have a lone duckling so you just have to make the best of it. I'm so surprised TSC doesn't have ducklings yet since ya'll are in FL.I bet our closest does and we're frigid They always start chick days in Feb. I stay a long ways away during chick days. They are also about 25 miles from us so that helps.

You might need to look at your farmers bulletin or even local hatcheries in your area

Not even any ducklins available on craigslist right now locally. Crazy.

TSC should have ducklings in your area. We get them up here on the 23rd.

Were you able to get the lil one a mirror? that will help. but spending alot of time with it will help too. plus that mirror will keep it knowing it's a duck not a human.

The local feed store came through for me. Headed home now to introduce the store bought duckling to my home hatched baby.
