Lonely elderly quail

I have a very elderly male quail (he is about 6 years old) who recently lost his two, equally elderly, companions.
Since then he's been calling and crowing constantly and I'm certain he's very lonely, however at his age I don't want to get any new birds and I doubt he would survive the stress of being rehomed to someone with other quail.
Is there any way I can help him feel less lonely? I've tried spending more time with him but he's very neutral to me so I don't think it's any real benefit to him

Awww… poor thing. Did he see the death of the other birds? If not, he thinks they are lost?

I read another thread about a mirror in a run that started a fire due to the sun’s reflection. So, be cautious with placement! Or instead, use something Highly reflective instead.
