Hello!
I sadly had to have my goose, Wilma, down this morning leaving her mate, Fred, alone. Should I try to introduce a new female to Fred? He is currently being housed with a Muscovy duck right now.
Thank you in advance

Sorry about Wilma 🙁🥺
How long did you keep the 2 as a pair? Keep an eye on Fred's behavior, you will be able to tell if he needs a mate or not. He may just fall into the duck flock without any problems.

Do you have other ducks just thinking if these are your only waterfowl maybe you can take your time in finding your gander a new mate. I am sorry for your loss. How long has they been together?
I got the pair together from a farmer about 2 or 3 years ago but they were full grown when I received them but I believe they’ve been paired they’re whole life
