Loner pekin drake seems OK

Sorry to hear about the girl.If I lived closer I could've helped you out.We have Giant Pekins, and the girls I have available right now are only 4 weeks old,but plenty big enough for him. They grow incredibly fast!!

I will ask her opinion if a pekin is too large and could harm the welsh. I know he isn't as tenacious at it as before and I don't use the eggs for anything other than eating but possibly she won't want me to have a male pekin harrassing them.and I have never met the giant pekins but of course THEY would be OK!

I am sorry you lost your girl.

UPDATE-going sunday to p/u 2 welsh harlequins and an older pekin hen thrown in!!!Hoosier Head(the loner drake)is eating but he doesn't want to come out of the kennel that I house him and the young chix in. so chix are moving to actual chic shed soon and new ducks will move in with Hoosier Head! the insanity intensifys!!at least when drake passes the 3 girls will have each other.thanks for the push Eroc1_1.

No problem. I am glad I could assist you. Like I said before, I will be getting some Sebastopol Geese from her plus I live within 6 miles of her place.

By the way, how are your 'new' ducks working out? I heard you got 3 or so.
