Long Distance Friendships :-(

It's allright, if you don't feel like talking to me, it's allright.
I'll give ya all a bit of space

Thanks for the concern.

Nah, everything's fine with the parents.... generally the rest of human civilisation getting on my nerves.

Things got better though, after I posted on here. Today was actually quite a bemusing day. Spent a while after school imitating Mrs. Bennet in Pride and Prejudice with my pals outside our common room.... yeah, we looked like idiots. Oh, Mr BINGley! How my nerves are vexed...

Sorry guys!

I do want to talk to you Liz!

I've just been a bit preoccupied lately. There is my book... and then theres all this searching on the internet for a place to buy in Ocala
tongue.png

I'm really happy though... I stumbled on something yesterday in my internet searching.... guess what I found??!!

I just happened to look through the horse classifieds
roll.png

and...

drumroll....

I see...

The name...

Moriah!

I contacted the lady... and I'm right, it's her!

Moriah was the first filly we ever had from my first horse, Cassy (the solid buckskin I posted, not the show mare) and I spent so much time with her when I was a kid!
We had a great time, teaching her to relax on the halter, me leading her about while mom read to me the latest article from John Lyons
lol.png

She was such a sweetie pie!
We kept her until she was a 2 year old... then we sold her because I was all distracted with Fantasia.

So shes for sale, not that much, and I'm going to try and buy her!

Hoping the seller can help me find someone nice to lease her... or keep her on at their place for a few months... because we have nothing horsey down here, and its a 5 hour drive to Ocala.

I hope I can get her!

Can you believe shes 13!!???? Apparently, shes been in parades and is a great trail horse, had a couple foals.
Hmmmm... I wonder who I would breed her to? *cackle*

Happy things are better!

Poor Danielles feet!

Get you some of those books Flare! The book knowledge takes a fair bit of the time... if you study now, you might save a bit of money later!

OK! Lets go back to talking about me now! I wann my Horsie! Wan my horsie!

That's awesome! I hope you can get her too.

How much is she?
Too bad you don't live up here. We could've boarded her at our place.
smile.png

The shop still hasn't called about my car.
roll.png

I found out I can definitely trade it in though, but they don't know for how much.
I'm also waiting for the dealership guy to call.

I've been in contact with the lady today... and I realised halfway between exchanging emails... How on Earth are we going to go have a look at her before buying? Like I said, Ocala is 5 hours away, and I don't have anyone able to lend me their functioning car for a day
hit.gif

The lady has other people interested in her... people who are actually prepared... so I decided it would be best to give them a chance to look at her first
hit.gif
*sniff*.

Not a very good idea to buy a horse, even one you hand raised, sight unseen, right?

So I let the lady know... and at least we can help the new owners with getting her paperwork properly transferred over. Even though we handed over her papers to those nice people we sold her to all those years ago... apparently they never sent it in!
ep.gif
So now its completely lost to anyone who might want it. So at least some good has come of me seeing her just like that, at just the right time - which I must admit is one of the reasons I was so gung-ho.... just, what were the chances?

Psssst! I wonder, oh I wonder, Danielleey! When I find a place for me (and?) in Ocala... .... .... Wouldn't you like to go riding with me when I do get me a horsie!!??

Flareflare!! How could you possibly think we don't like talking to you?? Go on, ask Danielle... I've been ignoring her too!

Now

.... and no more of that silliness!

That's such a bummer. Maybe whoever buys her will let you go visit sometime.
I'd definitely come ride with you! It'd be so much fun!

Yeah, *sniffle* Squishy has been being a neglectful friend.

Oh, funny story time!
So today I went out to check on the chickens, and I found a bantam egg from Snowball in the middle of the run.
Then, I hear Little Lady (other Old English Bantam) start "talking" and then she comes out of a hiding spot.
I tell her she's busted and she starts "yelling" at me.
gig.gif

So I go and take her four hidden eggs and she followed me around continuing to tell me what she thought of that.
roll.png

Then I noticed that Butterball was nowhere to be found, so I checked in the coop.
Of course I find her in there sitting in her milk crate (they like to use them as nest boxes).
Now, Butterball absolutely DOES NOT like to be disturbed while she's sitting.
As soon as I opened up the door, she starts "yelling" and growling at me. It was the funniest things ever.
I actually got a video.
lol.png

She's so silly. I just love her.

I would guess that person was one of the many who call for pizza in a non-sober state. For some reason, being not-sober seems to entail trying to choose phone numbers to dial... and alot of people choose delivery restaurants
roll.png

I really wouldn't worry about it.... she was very likely that sort.

Now help me Danielle! I'm in such a conundrum!

The lady says she will hold off on making other appointments for a few days to give me a chance to decide... (Or is that just 'no one else is looking'?)

You know alot about horses! I would never normally buy a horse without looking... thats the reason I fist said no... and you know our car situation.. I asked already, and there in NO one here who is able to lend me their car for a day... it would be 10 hours driving.. and Erins car apparently shudders to much on the highway (I wouldnt of minded, my civic used to) but he does apparently.

Only... We raised Moriah ourselves and I know her temperament. At least on the ground. She was such a sweetie pie. She'd come up and say hi.. easy to toss a halter on (thanks to us playing with her as a baby so much). Not spooky... every now and then she'd take off on a gallop in the pasture. Lowest on the mare totem pole, and she would do that submissive thing with her mouth to alllll of the horses, LOL.

So.. that lady says she has been in Parades, ect... and that she had a bad fall and is now scared of riding. Apparently, she loves Moriah, rode her just yesterday morning, and said she is just too much horse for her. I don't know what to make of that... I pressed for more info, but instead of answering she pressed me to come ride her myself.

So all of that leads me to saying no.... because its just too chancy. But I wanted your opinion on it.

Shes pretty thin right now. I worry about her finding a nice place. Thats the biggest reason that I still want to, just to see her well cared for.

Wow, she is thin.. Looks like she might need to be wormed too.
Just because she was a certain way when she was little, doesn't mean she'll have the same manners as an adult.
All depends on who had her and how she was trained.
I'd definitely go ride her, and see how she loads in the trailer, acts around loud objects, handles getting her feet messed with, etc..

Like I asked before, how much are they wanting for her?

For comparison, this is her when we had her as a 1 or 2 year old.

Shes still registered in my moms name
roll.png
because apparently the forst owners never turned the paperwork in.

Moriah.JPG

The lady also said, when I asked about her gait... that she doesen't always stay in gait (I expected that from when she was a foal) but that shes fairly smooth.
So shes not a good breeding prospect or anything. If she was healthy... and I ended up with a bit of money someday, I could do the embryo transfer thing with her.. they sell show mares embryos pretty frequently in Pasos. She has had foals before. But thats an 'if,if,if' thing.
