Long Distance Friendships :-(

Yey! I get to help!

I've gotta get some more sleep. I cant focus right now since I've been up all night.

I'll look for that link and read it through this evening then? In the meantime you can think on and let me know any parts in particular you'd like help on.
You might want to set boundaries for me though because I have a tendency to re-write things too much when 'helping'

What sort of scenario would you like to work on? I think I would head in more of an engine failure direction than a lack of throttle control direction.. unless you've read some story of that happening? But I know the first is much more common. There could be a poultry strike in midair

There was a fascinating hydraulics failure emergency story I saw once. They had 2 extra off-duty pilots in the cockpit and it took the team of 5 people to keep that plane on course! It was amazing teamwork! Maybe you can find it online?

But yeah... ask away.. pick my brain... you should all know by now that I love being the know-it-all for a while! Heehee Haahaa! *cackle* Nevermind what some might say about it never ending. I'm so perfect that Im also perfectly humble, as well. *blink*

Or what if... as I theorized to my teacher in flight attendant training to the instructor.... Both of the pilots got hit and killed by lightning? Or simultaneous heart attacks or food poisoning or something?

Then it would be up to the female flight attendant with her Pilots license to bust down the door and save the day. Hoooray!

Though my question in class surrounded the inabillity to get through the cockpit door if both pilots were incapacitated somehow. But we can find a way!
I know! Well put a soda can in a passengers long sock and swing it at the door! Please dont ask me where that comes from... because yes.. the idea was suggested to us in the class literature provided by the FAA! Including the idea of rolling up a newspaper to stab someone with. Uhhhhhh.....

Anyhow... I'm tired, it's late, and I don't remember what I was writing...

Oh, yes, that's right!

Glad you're happy about helping out. I really appreciate it, but I have four weeks until I have to hand the project in (*major stress-out*), and two weeks of that needs to be spent writing the "structured writing" (practically half of the project when it comes to marks). I have no time to make any major plot changes, just correct the things that sound dumb to the professional

Anyhow - you'll probably find upon reading the script that the scene on my blog IS the major scene, but is not what the story is only about, if that makes sense. There are several other plot lines not-so aviation related. The movie is not about a single plane crash that the two characters are the heroes of: there are several other heroes there - on the ground, that is

I watch Air Crash Investigations twice a week, whenever it's on TV. It's probably the only show I actually watch with some regularity, and I learnt most of what little I know about flying from there. (The rest of it on the internet, which I incidentally found while Googling things about ATC)
My favourite episode would probably be Speedbird 009, the one with the volcanic ash. It's pretty cute.
As is Avianca 052, but that one doesn't have such a happy ending

I've always wondered what would happen if both the pilots became incapacitated. It's highly unlikely, but still - what an adventure!

The soft drink idea is genius. Give whoever thought that one up some credit

Stay friends..long distance is immaterial...just keep in touch...visit each other if possible...call each other...email....facebook. It's been 35 years since I moved away from my best friend. We are long distance friends. I have other friends now and so does she. Friends are forever.
