Long Distance Friendships :-(

They spit the food out when their tummies are too full
cool.png
Norman must be taking up too much room in there

I have funny little staring contests with Firefly too.. Hehe... He seems to always be saying "Oh! Here to give me more food mommy? Toss it in.. go on.. hurry up!"

My funny new girls tonight... I can just hear them yelling back and forth at eachother with Tinkerbell "Hes my boyfriend!" "No, Mine!" "He was always mine!" *Rip!* *Tear!* *Hair being pulled out*
Shimmer got so excited watching Firefly dance with Tinkerbell through the partition.. she started letting eggs out... then would swim around gobble them up. Then she would immediately go back to watching... more eggs... gobble gobble
tongue.png
After a while I think she was just doing it to have a yummy treat to eat
lol.png

Firefly though... he expressed interest in the other girls yesterday... but today he wont dance with anyone but Tinkerbell... "I dont want dem.. I want you!"

I was going to give you a peice of sponge! I had it waiting right here... but then you said "I can figure it out I think" and I thought that meant you didn't want to recieve little cut up peices of sponge in the mail
sad.png

I do think you maybe should try to slow it down anyway... I just remember that tank with the airstone being too strong. Well.... watch him when hes trying to sleep and see if hes able to stay in one spot with out being scooted at all... that should tell I think.
smile.png
Could use a clip or something on the air tube...

So uhh.. did the banana seperate itself from the actual plant?
hu.gif
I just sent one plant LOL

I'm going to try and get some pictures of my tank for you
big_smile.png
But I'm not hat great a camera wielder Hehe!

o.OIt sounds like you have to do alot for your Betta fish, what exactly is it that you do with them? When i had mine it was just in a tank with a filter and rocks... and a fake plant
hmm.png

Hmmm... Which parts sound that way?

Mostly we were talking about blocking off the filter a bit so it wasn't too strong a current for their delicate fins. The halfmoons even more then the veiltails or crowntails tend to get blown around a bit... its a lot of weight and drag for them to swim around with
tongue.png

I do tend to feed mine a bit better food and a few times a day... and then keeping their water nice and clean and heated to a tropical temp... I just choose live plants because I like them and have the snails for fun
wink.png

all the plants and things sound that way
lol.png
I did have a heater.. it was on like..... 26C? i think.. not sure what that is in F

Mine never seemed to last that long.. and like i cleaned it out regularly and stuff
hmm.png
i was only able to have one at a time though because i didnt have a divider for the tank so they had a fair amount of room.. as i thought being in a ity bity space is a little cruel
sad.png

Yep... I agree its really cruel when people keep them in tiny vases and stuff
hmm.png

It could've been a couple things.... most likely, where you got them from. Our petstores, for instance (Don't know about over there) keep them in those tiny little cups and they're often halfway dead or on the way to being sick before you ever buy them
sad.png

Other things are making sure your filter is really doing the job, its properly cycled, the levels of ammonia and such. And feedng them a good food... they dont do well on flakes
sad.png

I dont know what 26c would be either
tongue.png
I keep mine (depending on whick tank/heater) between 78F and 82F. Hehe!

i always got the healthy active one ( one of them i had shimmied around the tank to rock music) and the PH was neutral i was having to clean the tank like once a week or fornight because it would get this fuzzy grey stuff on the rocks it was weird.. the tank held about... 20L of water i think..or 15.. its not huge or anything
hmm.png
One i had was epileptic.. would have a fit in its tank.. managed to jump out of the tank while i wasnt home one day
sad.png

26C is about 79F

Yeah, the plant separated itself I guess.
Is that a bad thing?

Quick question.
What do I do when I run out of the food you sent for him?..
hide.gif

Oh, and he isn't being bothered by it at all. He can sit still easily.
I did put a little clamp thingy on the tube. It slowed it down some.

Oh well the banana plant apperantly had a hard trip like Mr Blue had...oh well ....I expect it's other half will either die off OR put down roots (then you can "plant" it) ...food ...Hmmm ....Becky says you have enough for 6 months
pop.gif
don't let him tell you he is hungry every time he sees you....pretend he is on a diet! plus catch mosquito larva for him....no more than 6 or 8 per feeding. Cheap and easy and saves on the expensive stuff
tongue.png
BIG plus...they love, love, love live wriggling food ! A bit like chickens I expect!
