Just got our first set of chicks, live in Stony Brook area. Anyone nearby?

Thanks, it's a pretty easy design to build. One thing is lumber is expensive, everything adds up. I already had some of the material which cut some costs down.

How many of you have chickens on a 1/4 acre?

Been planning it for a while but finally got started:
Made the floor assembly and cut the wood for the frame in garage tonight. Hopefully can get it assembled in the backyard tomorrow.

What's your coop look like now? Would be interested to see an update. Did you modify the design at all?

2 Easter eggers, 1 Buff Orpington, 1 Barred Rock, 1 Silver Laced Wyandotte.
(Also started with a speckled Sussex but she didn't make it)

This was our original order but 6 of them died in transit. They did send replacements but I think they may have sent replacements of what survived.
