Evening, a time to relax and catch up on the news and gossip. Goodnight, feathered friends, sleep well until tomorrow.

These young princes are enjoying their sleep-over - no girls allowed!

Stepping away from Brahmalot for a minute -

The Beast is gone. RIP Solo. My beautiful, ugly, deformed Solo. He was never expected to live as long as he did and he seemed to be very happy and in no pain. Solo was like a puppy dog, following anyone and everyone, always wanting a snack or just to be scratched on his head. He had a long hard hatch, the only one of a dozen dark Brahma eggs. It was soon apparent he was "not right." His legs were not exactly splayed, but looked to be attached in the wrong place on his body, making him walk like a drunken sailor. It appeared impossible for him to expel his waste out and away, so he had to have his posterior bathed often. He also was obviously "mentally impaired." He was never in any pain or distress, so I let him grow and watched him to make sure he was safe and not picked on by the others. He became a beloved pet, as are all of our Brahmalot citizens.

Solo passed away Saturday, the reason is a mystery. He was with us almost a year and will be sorely missed. Goodbye, my prince!

As long as I'm not in Brahmalot mode at the moment, I want to THANK YOU ALL for enjoying my stories! I have enjoyed the creating of Brahmalot immensely and appreciate every kind comment. There will be more stories coming soon if I can get my creative juices flowing.

The newest members of Brahmalot go on a field trip under the watchful eyes of Nanny Patches.

They have a grand time exploring the courtyard -

But some of the braver children go further into the jungle.

I'm sorry to hear about Solo passing. He was obviously loved during his short time on earth.

Your thread is one reason I decided to add a couple of Buff Brahma pullets to my chick order in July. They are sweet and pretty girls.

I am showing off her adorable feather feet here around a week old.

And here they are now at around 6 weeks old.
