Poor Jiffy. It's always sad to lose any bird, but especially a character like herYou shouldn't beat yourself up about it, it was not your fault. You did your best by her, which is more than most other people would do. I recently lost my polish roo to a terrible infection on his head. He hid it so well I didn't even notice it until it was really bad and there was nothing I could do for him but put him out of his misery. I blamed myself too and felt awful for a few days, but the good people here on BYC reminded me that chickens are naturally adept at hiding weakness. Regrettable as it was, there was most likely nothing you could have done for poor Jiffy. Please don't blame yourself Mrs. Scribe, you are Brahmalot's most devoted servant and you do a great job!
