Long live the King - the neverending story of Brahmalot!

The only time Queen Mother Chrissie and Lady Juliet aren't broody is when they are raising babies. Sometimes Lady Juliet has even abandoned her babies early to become broody again.

By any chance is Lady Chrissie a Speckled Sussex? What good broody hens she and Lady Juliet are.
Well, this scribe was a city girl. When we found our current kingdom in the country and decided to get our first chickens, we got a trio of bantams, Jack, Janet, and Chrissie. At the time, we thought that the breed was "bantam." More than six years later, we are wiser, but still have no idea what breed Queen Mother Chrissie is. Jack and Janet have since left us by way of unknown beasts, again when we were ignorant of the need for protection. We then acquired Romeo and Juliet, Ladies Bertha and Blackie, and a few other miscellaneous breeds. Then this scribe bought an incubator and, through the far-off land of e-Bay, discovered Brahma hatching eggs. Thus, Brahmalot was born!

Thank-you for the clarification! Looking at her size compared to her chicks I was wondering if Brahmalot's chicks were extra extra jumbo size. Bantam makes much more sense. I have a couple of smallish SS hens that have turned more white with each molt and look similar to Lady Chrissie.
