Long live the King - the neverending story of Brahmalot!

Pics
I just came back from the ABA/APA Poultry Nationals in Stockton CA. There were SO MANY Brahmas to look at, beautiful beautiful birds. I could never own one [live in the city / not enough room] but I sure do like looking at them! Those roos get HUGE! You can't help but say: "now THATS a chicken"! :)

Yes, Prince Choco is indeed stunning, and I'm glad he had his own flock of ladies to take care of! May he live long, and produce many adorable and uniquely colored Chocolate-chickies!

The spoiled ladies of Brahmalot -

The giants' days seemingly begin and end in service to their Brahmalot neighbors. As soon as the citizens venture forth from their castle, the "special ones" come to visit the giants. First, of course, is Her Royal Majesty Queen Frack. Her morning meal must consist of mealworms, even though the harvest is minimal at the present time. Queen Frack will sometimes deign to accept a morsel of bread or egg.

Next come the three spoiled ones. Lady Petunia, Princess Peeps, and Princess JJ. They happily fill their crops with a nice, warm breakfast before facing the labors of the day.

A little background about Lady "Tunie" -

She was born, the only one of her sisters and brothers to make it out of the egg due to problems with heat and humidity in the nursery. She had no other cousins or playmates anywhere near her age.

Petunia soon bonded to the giants, not letting them out of her sight, and even had her own little bed on this scribe's desk.

After a few weeks, more children of Brahmalot were born, but little Tunie never was very interested in making friends. To this day, she lives in an annex of the castle, far away from the others. She waits by the giants' front door daily, patiently awaiting lap time or even her favorite game of peck the toes.

Lady Tunie loves to wear the latest fashions and will always remain "the only little petunia in an onion patch"!

More spoiled ladies of Brahmalot -

Her Royal Majesty, Queen Frack used to climb up the stairs at the house of the neighboring giants daily -

to deposit her royal egg on the giants' bed.

After tumbling down the stairs (like a bowling ball) one day, the giants decided they could no longer allow that and bought her a nest box of her very own, pretty enough to be placed in the family room. Her majesty has been quite happy with this arrangement, but obviously has let a few of her ladies in on the secret -

Lady Domino politely knocked on the front door this morning to be let in.

While she was readying herself to leave her gift, Lady Blackie decided she must also come in and have a turn.

This scribe is worried that her main job now will be the constant opening and closing of the front door to allow a procession of ladies to come and go!
