Long live the King - the neverending story of Brahmalot!

Oatmeal is about as high on my Silkies' lists of favorites as spoiled milk is on mine!

They hate the stuff! Even with corn, which is there #1 fave!!!
idunno.gif
They don't go for raisins either. Are they picky or what!?

Have a great year of 2014!!! (whew! is it REALLY 2014 already!?

)
Hmm... that's weird. Mine like any greens and any small thing that could almost look like a seed or bug. They love corn and rice.

Yup its 2014! Have a good year!

I love reading about the wonderful stories of Brahmalot and of the great citizens who live there. I have laughed many times as well as mourned when one of the royal family perishes. Thank you for sharing your awesome flock with us and I look forward to what the new year of 2014 will bring to Brahmalot. Long live the Kings and Queens of Brahmalot and the great Giants who protect and watch over them! :D

Here-here, I concur! :love

It looks like Brahmalot might have a new king! Majestic 17-pound King Samson was found bloody and battered one day last week, bleeding from one ear and many places around his comb and wattles. He started avoiding the main flock, staying along the outer edges. After some careful watching, it was discovered that the two Court Jesters from Seramalot, Macbeth and Popeye, were beating him! They were relentless, working together, kicking and biting him repeatedly. As a consequence, they have been placed in the dungeon for the weekend and will be exiled from the kingdom this morning.

Of course, now that Samson has shown weakness, Prince Marco has taken over as supreme leader. It is hoped that with the exile of the two troublemakers, Samson will heal and soon be back to his old self, taking his kingdom back from Prince Marco.

While this scribe loves King Samson and wishes him a speedy recovery, she cannot help but feel what goes around comes around, as the Mighty King Rocky was similarly deposed by Samson just about a year ago. Now you know what it feels like, Samson!

Long live the kings of Brahmalot!

Once upon a time there lived a king named Rocky. He reigned with a gentle hand over his harem and watched them diligently, keeping them as safe as he could.

Subjects came from other lands to be ruled by Rocky as his reputation for being a good and gentle king grew. All was good in the land.
King Rocky is so HANDSOME. He is AMAZING.
I haven't read the whole thread yet so I hope he is still alive today.

Festival day arrives and the kingdom celebrates the harvest of their main crop - watermelon!

Your flock is BEAUTIFUL!! So many plump, fluffy and fully feathered chickens. I wish I had your flock.

Even Her Majesty, Queen Frack enjoys a bite with the court jester, Romeo, at her side.

This is a FANTASTIC picture. So funny because it look exactly as you have described it. Truly wonderful.
Is her majesty a silver penciled Brahma?
This is a WONDERFUL beginning to a hopefully a tremendous story and I shall for sure be reading it all.
( As you can see I like CAPS on my adjectives, don't hate

.lol. )

Meanwhile, the older children enjoy their communal dust bath, which started out small ...

but quickly grew out of control!
I love how chickens do this. One begins and the rest follow.

Prince Lucky and Princess Stupid share a moment and some watermelnon - is there a romance blooming?

This is a wonderful side sorry from the venture of Brahmalot. I really hope these two continue their romance.

This young man is practicing poses for the local Chickendales club. He should have the girls swooning!

A very flamboyant rooster. He will surly become a prowess leader of a wonderful harem.

Diary of a Princess

Most of you have already met Princess Stupid. Her former name was Princess Jiffy Pop. Soon after birth, it was noticed that little Jiffy was different from all her siblings. She was very friendly, always craving a cuddle, but always a little clumsy and seemed to miss her target, whether it was a juicy mealworm or a morsel of bread or corn. One day one of the neighboring giants was holding her in the bright sun and noticed a film over the pupil of JIffy's right eye. Jiffy is blind on one side! As the weeks went on, Jiffy would visit the giants' castle more and more, hanging out on a throne or in the kitchen. Whenever she hears a giant's voice, she comes running for a hug. She happily sits on a lap for as long as she is allowed. Her favorite hobby is carpentry, and she helps whenever possible.

Jiffy still visits the kingdom of Brahmalot, but it seems she has found a place in the castle of the giants forever, as there are too many dangers out there for a one-eyed princess.

Another wonderful story branching from Brahmalot. I think princess Jiffy is my favourite pullet. She seems like a very lovable bird

There's trouble in paradise! Prince Lucky was caught keeping company with his brother and some of the other princesses.

Princess Stupid gave him a good chewing out ...

... and they have gone their separate ways.

Poor Princess Stupid!

Oh Prince Lucky, how could you!!
Maybe all the rain has sent him loopy.
Keep strong Princess Stupid

and the ugly chickling ... is still ugly, kind of.

Poor ugly. It's bizarre how stunted his feather growth is. How ever I think he shall grow big and strong and take all the ladies by storm.

Some were a little nervous about their journey and wanted to hide -

Tremendous shot!!!

That is so cute.
The return of beautiful weather brings the return of romance. Princess Stupid (aka Jiffy Pop) and Prince Lucky are beginning to speak again, although he has caught the eye of many of the ladies of the court.

Yeah!!! Go Prince Lucky, you win her back
big_smile.png
.

You'll get there ugly.

Coming soon, Beauty and the Beast, starring Prince Solo as The Beast!

YAY!! Can't wait
wee.gif

Old King Rocky does still have his faithful Queen Oreo, who loves to cuddle, while his other wife, Bertha looks on. Rocky faithfully waits at the front door of the neighboring giants every morning for his snack of raisins.
I have never seen this behavior before. It's great!!!
She is trying to brood herself.

On revisiting some old story lines, Prince Lucky and Princess JIffy are officially a couple and are inseparable.

Wonderful news, you go Lucky!!

The ugly chickling is continuing to grow up. Now if only he would grow a tail. Surely there is a beautiful swan (or at least roo) in there somewhere!

Oh would you look at that!!! Ugly aint so ugly any more. Girls come a running.

Stepping away from Brahmalot for a minute -

The Beast is gone. RIP Solo. My beautiful, ugly, deformed Solo. He was never expected to live as long as he did and he seemed to be very happy and in no pain. Solo was like a puppy dog, following anyone and everyone, always wanting a snack or just to be scratched on his head. He had a long hard hatch, the only one of a dozen dark Brahma eggs. It was soon apparent he was "not right." His legs were not exactly splayed, but looked to be attached in the wrong place on his body, making him walk like a drunken sailor. It appeared impossible for him to expel his waste out and away, so he had to have his posterior bathed often. He also was obviously "mentally impaired." He was never in any pain or distress, so I let him grow and watched him to make sure he was safe and not picked on by the others. He became a beloved pet, as are all of our Brahmalot citizens.

Solo passed away Saturday, the reason is a mystery. He was with us almost a year and will be sorely missed. Goodbye, my prince!

Oh no!!! That is terrible news. I am so sorry to hear this

He was so handsome. At least you got some time with him.

As long as I'm not in Brahmalot mode at the moment, I want to THANK YOU ALL for enjoying my stories! I have enjoyed the creating of Brahmalot immensely and appreciate every kind comment. There will be more stories coming soon if I can get my creative juices flowing.

Well I for one am absolutely loving the story. You are a very talented writer

. I am loving every minute of it, but now thanks to you Sjisty......I'm addicted. I'm in my own little world ( well actually the large world of Brahmalot ). I have been sitting here hours reading, reading and reading and I'm happy to say not even close to finishing. Thank you very much

Hi Cluckcluckluke -

I'm glad you like the neverending story! You have a long way to go, so I don't want to spoil it for you. You haven't gotten to the coyotes, alligator, and other beasties yet! I hope you love every page. There are happy stories and sad ones, all listed here to make you laugh and cry.

Yes, Queen Frack is a dark Brahma, and she pretty much runs the lives of the lowly neighboring giants. At one point when she was sick (you will read about that later), we even cancelled plans because of being afraid to leave her for a day. Happily, she's back to normal and even laying eggs again.

Lately, Brahmalot has been peaceful and quiet, so the stories have slowed a bit, but now with the new drama, there will be many more stories in the immediate future as King Samson and Prince Marco sort out the kingdom between them with the banishment of the Court Jesters. Even the sons of MacBeth and Popeye will be banished soon and no more Serama eggs placed in the nursery. Never was Romeo this aggressive, and he is missed but obviously cannot ever be replaced!

Happy reading!

I'm sorry about King Samson. I live in a land of many roosters, so I can relate to this recent drama. It seems any king's reign can be tenuous when the other roosters are secretly plotting to strike at any sign of weakness. King Samson will likely heal from his physical wounds just fine, but we will have to wait to see if he can recover his throne and his pride. Our land of many roosters has required divisions into principalities after some rebellions. This usually involves building another coop and run here ...sigh.
