Long live the King - the neverending story of Brahmalot!

I'm sorry about King Samson. I live in a land of many roosters, so I can relate to this recent drama. It seems any king's reign can be tenuous when the other roosters are secretly plotting to strike at any sign of weakness. King Samson will likely heal from his physical wounds just fine, but we will have to wait to see if he can recover his throne and his pride. Our land of many roosters has required divisions into principalities after some rebellions. This usually involves building another coop and run here ...sigh.
Old King Rocky can relate. He has been annexed to his own "mini-castle" after his stroke and beat-down by his son, Samson last year. He shares his little castle with Lady Hope, who was brutally attacked by a stray dog months ago. She has outwardly healed but has not laid an egg since then (August) and it is feared that the new skin is not thick enough to be exposed to the amorous men of Brahmalot. They will live out their lives in their own little home, only coming out when under the supervision of the neighboring giants.

Hi Cluckcluckluke -

I'm glad you like the neverending story! You have a long way to go, so I don't want to spoil it for you. You haven't gotten to the coyotes, alligator, and other beasties yet! I hope you love every page. There are happy stories and sad ones, all listed here to make you laugh and cry.

Yes, Queen Frack is a dark Brahma, and she pretty much runs the lives of the lowly neighboring giants. At one point when she was sick (you will read about that later), we even cancelled plans because of being afraid to leave her for a day. Happily, she's back to normal and even laying eggs again.

Lately, Brahmalot has been peaceful and quiet, so the stories have slowed a bit, but now with the new drama, there will be many more stories in the immediate future as King Samson and Prince Marco sort out the kingdom between them with the banishment of the Court Jesters. Even the sons of MacBeth and Popeye will be banished soon and no more Serama eggs placed in the nursery. Never was Romeo this aggressive, and he is missed but obviously cannot ever be replaced!

Happy reading!

Sjisty, your wrecking it!!! Shhh!!!
It a tremendulous story and will enjoy reading it.
A dark Brahma, that is for sure going to be my next project. As I said before your Brahmas and wonderful, so many colours and personality's.
haha, she sounds overly spoiled.
Thanks

Prince Lucky and Princess Jiffy continue to grow and are rarely seen far apart.

Prince Lucky has come far from the poor battered and bloody survivor of a hawk attack!

Oh oh, it looks like we might just have another ugly chickling!

Princess Jiffy is no more.

Sweet little Princess Jiffy, as you all know, was born blind in one eye. It became increasingly apparent that she couldn't see well out of her other eye, either. Prince Lucky took her under his wing and after a few lover's quarrels, they became devoted to each other, never straying very far apart. Over the last month or so, Jiffy started to lose a little weight. It was thought to be due to her difficulties in finding food and the bigger and healthier brothers and sisters chasing her away. This scribe sat with the sweet princess on her lap daily with a bowl of food, allowing her to eat her fill, but it obviously just wasn't enough. Princess Jiffy passed early this afternoon. Goodnight my little princess.

NO!!!!

. I know I'm 2 years late on this but for me it's likes it's just happened. Jiffy was the best. R.I.P Princess Jiffy.

Prince Lucky doesn't feel so lucky right now. He will make new friends, but for now he is alone and lonely without his princess.

Poor fella.

Tiny Juliet is a giant of a mother! Once again, she has hatched foster-babies and will now raise three new members of Brahmalot!

Do you only give her a few babies because as you said before they get bigger than her in only a few weeks.lol??

Okay, more excitement for Brahmalot. The neighboring giant went out to lock up for the night and found this in the main nursery - This scribe ran screaming to the man giant (who was shaving), who came running out, shaving cream and all, with his pistol and slew this particular beast.

WOW, he is stunningly beautiful...but dangerous

Brahmalot wasn't so lucky after all yesterday. Since the coyote was seen running away with Sir Danny before he dropped him, it was thought that all the scattered feathers were Danny's, but now it's obvious that Sir Danny was his second meal. After the excitement of the rattlesnake died down and this scribe went to check on the kingdom again, beautiful Prince Lucky was not among those in the coops.

Rest in peace, Prince Lucky. You survived a hawk but not the coyote. Princess Jiffy Pop needed you still, so now you are together again. Your story has now ended. You will be missed. I'm sorry I couldn't protect you.
NO!! More sadness

. Lucky was my favorite rooster in this story. R.I.P Prince Lucky.

Still loving the story but real sad about the losses.
I know I'm very late ( 2 years ) but it's still sad.

So, I just discovered this thread today and have read every single post. This was creative, beautiful, loving, and just awesome. Brahmalot seems like a magical land where there's always a balance between life and death, happiness and sadness. You are a great writer. I hope to hear more about this magical land in the future, with all the old fluffy butts and new fluffy butts. May your kingdom prosper and the balance keep.

This scribe is about to brave the cold morning air to open the gates of Brahmalot. It looks so cold out there!

Hey, Brahmalot is still in Florida right?

Ha, I know it is all relative. Fortunately, I have my snow pants, down coat, tall winter rubber boots, face mask, arctic gloves, extra socks, etc to venture outside here in Michigan with the subzero wind chill. And I have it better than the folks living in the great plains. It takes me a few minutes to get all layered up to go outside.

My flocks are sealed up in the coop with heat lamps. Once it gets back to more typical winter temperatures around 20 degrees, my Brahma hen will be the first on out in the run. With her exta fluff and feathered feet, she is not afraid of moderate cold at all.

THANK YOU cluckcluckluke for the trip down Brahmalot memory lane! The story never gets old and it was fun to see the citizens again!
Sjisty, my prayers are with Samson that he can once again reign supreme over the lands. :fl

Yes, Brahmalot is in Florida, but we did get below freezing. This scribe agrees it is relative, but COLD is COLD! Once it is under 30 degrees, it's just plumb cold, colder, and coldest. At least Brahmalot does not get snow!

The citizens were sun huggers today. As soon as the sun started peeking through the trees, each spot of sunshine was immediately found and filled with bodies. As the day progressed, it did warm up some, so the citizens were happier. Some of them visited the neighboring giants to warm up in front of the fire and get a treat or two. Then everyone had a late afternoon snack of warm oatmeal, cranberries, corn, and bread mush. At least tonight will not be as cold and by the end of the week, the temperatures will be up to 80 again.

The neighboring giants let little Lady Lacey in today to warm her toes and eat a warm breakfast. She was just too cute to resist.
