Long live the King - the neverending story of Brahmalot!

Everyone was happy to wake up to sunshine, finally, after days of rain. Old King Samson enjoys a bite in the sun.

These ladies also enjoy the sunshine in the only patch of grass left in Brahmalot.

Meanwhile, the ladies in waiting wait no more -

Lady Blackie, always the perfect mother, with her brood of five.

Lady Tinkerbell's first child!

Lady Cagney with her only chick (the darker one), was promptly offered and accepted another from a new mom who hatched her chick and then promptly left! Lady Cagney was happy to add to her family.

Brahmalot is again bursting at the seams with children and housing is popping up everywhere to accommodate the new families!

This new prince is growing big and strong. Prince Comet can never be king due to his questionable lineage. His mother is thought to be Lady Blackie or Lady Bertha, so he is only half-Brahma and therefore cannot inherit the throne of Brahmalot! He is a beauty, though, and currently loves to snuggle on the lap of any visiting giant.

I love the look on Prince Comet's face. He seems to be wondering why the paparazzi is concerned with photographing him!

wonderful stories. isnt he handsome. I have friesian fowl as my main breed, problem is by two weeks old they have all their wing feathers and can fly. They dont stay fuzzy long, only the first week then into the lanky stage, they are 5 weeks old now and already are identical to adult versions, because they are a hardy free range breed they have to mature fast. when I first hatched them it was 4 friesians and a wyandotte and by 2 weeks the friesians were roaming far and wide when I let them out of the brooder and little whinnie was always the fat chick panting who couldnt keep up, now she has 5 friesians and 1 friesian x wyandotte chicks at 5 weeks, and although they are still small, they are already running rings around her, and harassing the adult friesians :)

Tragedy in Brahmalot today. Ruby, trusted protector of the realm, died today. She was 18 years old. Her doctor thinks she had a brain tumor that started leaking. This morning she started having neurologic symptoms and was rushed to the doctor. He gave no hope of recovery, and thus we said goodbye as she slipped into a peaceful sleep. She will be missed dearly by the chickens and giants of Brahmalot.

Goodbye, sweet Ruby, we love you. You were the best dog ever. I will never forget you.
