The gate has been reinforced. The combined weight of 180 pounds of two very active young dogs forced it open. It will not happen again. This scribe is still not ready to welcome them with open arms, but understands their instincts.

The good news is the remaining citizens are unharmed. It appears only the three ladies were caught. There are no further injuries. Queen Frack was missing for a while, but then came out of her hiding place, as did Queen Mother Chrissie and babies. In her 8+ years, Queen Mother Chrissie has already survived an attack by another dog and a witnessed hawk attack, as well as the recent "scalping." It is not known how many lives she has left.

Even though it was very bad, it could have been much worse, if the neighboring giants had not been home.

Meanwhile, the beasts will probably come inside later today. Forgiveness comes very hard.

The serpent has been vanquished! The murderer of many chicks and eater of countless eggs was discovered yesterday. After a speedy trial, the 6-foot monster was found guilty and beheaded. The kingdom is safe again, for a while.
