The circle of life keeps turning. There are now 9 ladies of Brahmalot with children and another 6 ladies in waiting who will be introducing their children soon. So far Brahmalot boasts 14 new children, although Lady Blackie will have more by bedtime tomorrow.

Lady Meanie, Lady Lucy (again), Lady Star, Lady Frappe, Lady BJ, and Lady Misty should all have children by the end of next week.

The dreaded dragon appears to have taken residence in the woods surrounding Brahmalot, so the Ladies are being very careful and they and their children are staying in various rooms of the castle until either the dragon moves on or some brave knight vanquishes him. Every spare room has a mom and her children. Brahmalot is bursting at the seams!

Congrats to the new mothers with all those babies. I wish the dragons would leave so the mothers could bring those babies out. I can't stand the dragons.

I don't know how you come up with all the names for the citizens of Brahmalot. That must be challenging.

The citizens quite often pretty much name themselves. Lady Blackie, of course, is Black. Lady Frappe looks like a caramel frappachino (sp?). Lady Meanie will take your finger off! King Rocky got botulism once and put on a good fight to live. Lady Oreo used to hang out with Ladies Blackie and Big Bertha (both black with her being white). Lady Buttercup is the color of butter. Ladies Sugar and Spice are sisters, one light colored and one darker (Salt and Pepper having been used before). Queen Frack was one of a pair, Frick and Frack. Her sister died a few years ago, and Frack is now the third-oldest, only behind Blackie and Bertha, all three being between 9 and 10 years old.

Some of the citizens have been named by fans of Brahmalot, such as Lady Chitty. Her daughter ended up being Lady Bang-Bang. Her mother is Lady Snow White, although to see her now you would never believe she was white at birth.

A past King was King Danny Partridge, as it seemed the logical name for a partridge Brahma. He was much better looking than his namesake!

Not much going on at Brahmalot - just beautiful, peaceful days of summer!

Young princes gone on quest to a new land.


Lady Star has a new child, which looks suspiciously like Lady Flopsy - we may have to take a trip to The Maury Show!


New children are being born almost daily, and Brahmalot has gone from 14 broody ladies-in-waiting to now just 3. Hopefully they will not have to wait much longer.

This scribe is beginning to fear reporting "peaceful" days. Within an hour of this morning's post, numerous cracks were heard, almost like gunfire! Upon investigation, it was discovered to be the sound of wood cracking. After about 20 minutes of this frequent sound of popping, this scribe witnessed the fall of yet another tree! As you can see, it fell beside what is left of the firewood from last year's trees falling. The neighboring Giants will never run out of firewood, but they wonder if Brahmalot will soon look like a pasture (although without grass).

At least no citizens of Brahmalot were injured and, once again, the Giants' house was spared.
