Long live the King - the neverending story of Brahmalot!

Pics
Luck still shines on Brahmalot. Sir Danny Partridge was just grabbed by a coyote. Thanks to other neighboring giants who were out for a walk, they came upon the evil beast crossing the main thoroughfare, startling her and causing her to drop Sir Danny. Short of a lot of missing feathers, Sir Danny looks to be unharmed. This scribe will have weapon ready for the return of the beast.. Brahmalot must be protected. In the meantime, the main gate entering Brahmalot is now closed.

There will be more happy stories in the future. Although dark, this tale ended well today.

Sir Danny will live.

Might I suggest a 12 gauge loaded with 00 buckshot?
Just read the entire tale. 35 pages. WOW! Keep them coming.

Wow. Those were some nice looking eggs. Don't let the coyote get away with it. I don't want to sound harsh, but shooting him sounds like a good punishment for daring to attack one of your beautiful chickens. I hope you catch him!!

He/she is still out there. This scribe watched the citizens of Brahmalot run to the front gate and dashed outside just in time to see the large gray beast pacing the back gate. That means 10:30 this morning and now 1:00 p.m. and it is still stalking Brahmalot. This scribe is in a panic and not sure how to handle this new crisis, but shotgun will be ready real soon.

(By the way, thanks y'all for wishing for interesting stories)

Stepping out of Brahmalot mode for a minute -

The plan is to keep everyone penned for a few days. We have 4 coops with covered runs. Our 60-ish chickens will be kind of crowded and we will have to keep the roos in separate cages so they don't fight, but it's do-able. That gives me and my shotgun a chance to kill the beast or maybe he will just move on when there's no easy food. The game camera is going to be out tonight aimed at his probable path, which is down the driveway. When he took Danny earlier, he ran straight up the driveway and across our dirt road into the woods on the other side of the street (dropping Danny in the street). Later in the day, he was in a buffer area of about 12 feet between the back yard (where the chickens free-range) and the boundary fence that goes around the entire 3 acres that we have. If I catch him in the main yard again, my first plan is to run close the gate at the street, which hopefully will slow him down enough for me to get a shot or two. If he's coming out during the day because he's rabid, then it's probably a good thing I didn't catch up with him this afternoon armed with nothing but my shovel, which was the nearest thing I had at the time! Anyway, be patient, Brahmalot stories are going to be on hold for a little bit. Wish me luck!

Okay, more excitement for Brahmalot. The neighboring giant went out to lock up for the night and found this in the main nursery - This scribe ran screaming to the man giant (who was shaving), who came running out, shaving cream and all, with his pistol and slew this particular beast.

The serpent is now headless and tailess, and the neighboring giant has a souvenier rattle.

Once again lady luck smiles on Brahmalot, as everyone is fine.
