Long molting period

Hi

Some of my hens have lost their feathers (more than 2 months ago) and they have not been fully replaced. In some others they just grow now. Is this an indication that something is missing in their nutrition or it could be another reason?

Some molts take several months to fully complete. Adding some extra protein can help. What I've read is that it takes a good deal of protein to create new feathers. Hope that helps some.

Thanx a lot. I hope that this the reason and not something else. I started a few days ago to give them a vitamin protein supplement. Instructions say for a week. In the vet shop i saw that they had another supplement that contains metals. Any idea if this may help?
