Hello, I'm Sable and I'm twenty-two and have been keeping chickens for twelve years.

My current flock consists of six buff orphington hens, one buff orphington/brahma hen and one buff brahma rooster.

Plus of course, the babies! Six new chicks, naturally hatched by their mama who went broody three days after we got three assorted bantams (sultan, d'uccle and one unidentified) and three barred cochins. I love my chickens to death and they are all named without thought to gender, after greek and norse gods.

Beyond chickens I also have two dogs named Duke and Heimdall, four cats named Pandora, Griffin, Raven and Nova, and a blue roan mustang named River.

Welcome to BackYardChickens! So glad to have you here in our wonderful community of friendly, helpful, knowledgeable people!
Pictures are always wanted, so if you can post any of your critters, please do! Of your chickens of course, but I, for one, would love to see a picture of the mustang. Was he/she adopted?

He was adopted from our local BLM, though he's a Little Owyhee mustang. No current pictures, but you can have my favorite winter pictures :) He's usually a lot more blue.
