You sound just like me...my BO are about 17 weeks old and I am so anxious...I feel like I am waiting on my labor pains to begin!! Thanks for the great post to help us who are looking for eggs everyday!

I let my BO out to free range so I was going out for the day left them in the run and foung eggs that day..Think they were holding out on me!!! They look beautiful nice looking flock..Anyday anyday!!
 
looking at your run do the Buff Orps try to fly out? I would LOVE to let mine out and about but we live in the city and roaming chickens is not a good thing lol One of our bantams got out yesterday and up and over the pen into the neighbors yard it went, hubby had to jump the fence and throw his shirt over it to catch it lol I want a huge coop but until then I want them to be able to roam!

I took a 6' chainlink fence and burried about 6" in the ground. It has worked great and this large breed of BO's have not even considered trying to fly out. I have not clip the first wing and don't expect to. It is however about 25 x 30 and give each bird about 50 s/f at this point
