She is almost 18 weeks. Does anyone think she is close to laying her 1st egg?? I'm hoping sooner rather than later

She may start laying at anytime. By egg squatting they refer to when you goup to them they freeze and drop their back end downwards.

If you have a rooster with her she will be doing it for the rooster and he will jump on top of her.

No egg squatting that I've seen. We do have a handsome rooster. She does not freeze and drop to the ground when we go to her she actually runs up to us and begs for treats when she sees us l. I just love her. She is so friendly.

I have a pullet that has a similar comb and is doing the squat when I go to pet her. I am hoping for an egg any day!

When the she the rooster start jumping on her back you have 1-21 days till she starts laying
