Look at THIS thing! Pics

Thats really small and adorable too, but my pullets didn't lay them that small I think

Is it possible that some other kind of bird is laying in your nest box? None of our girls' first eggs were THAT small.

My half banty did lay that small.

Please let us know if you get more I would love to know what that is all about.

I had one of my big RIR girls get an egg like that scared out of her.
It was new years eve and firecrackers were going off all over noisy and smoky and loud parties till 2am.
Went out the next morning and found this little egg laying under their roost. Scared the egg right out of her.
It was the same just yolk, vey little white

The smallest egg I ever got from my girls was the size of a marble! It had no yolk and dried out on it's own. It is sitting on my hutch right now. I accidentally found it one day while cleaning out the coop. It is smaller than a typical turd!

I'll just apologize in advance for this.

Ever since reading the article about itty-bitty eggs, aka wind eggs, or f**t eggs... I can't get Bonnie Tyler's song "It's a Heartache" out of my head.

Because, you know, f**t egg sounds a lot like "heartache?" Add to the fact that I'm nursing a cold, and my voice sounds like Bonnie's distinctive growl anyway.... Well here you go. Don't expect to hear this on the radio anytime soon.

"It's A F**t Egg"

It's a f**t egg
Nothin' but a f**t egg
Find 'em when they're first laid
By a younger biiirrrrd

Such an odd egg
Teeny tiny f**t egg!
Seriously small egg
Smaller than a turrrrrrd

It's not big enough to fry
Without a magnifyyyyyyy-
ing glass

It's so small, I have my doubt
The hen felt the thing come out
her ***

It's a f**t egg
Nothin' but a f**t egg
Find 'em when they're first laid
By a younger biiirrrrd

Oh, and in case anyone wants to hear the original,
here it is
