Funny song!

I had a tiny egg too out of my Hamburg bantam.....it was pretty small if you ask me! Hubby said for days afterwards "Are there any "fart" eggs out there?

I will have to look up the link again, but if your tiny eggs are internally a "normal" egg (so with normal white and a yolk) it is called a "peewee" egg ... a "wind egg" (sometimes also called a "rooster egg") is when there is no yolk (and other abnormalities internally >so not a "normal" egg in all but size)

There IS such a thing as a rooster egg, lol!!!!

I have a guy at work that asks me all the time to bring the brown rooster eggs...course he is kidding as I've told him people ask for those..but you should see the puzzled looks when people over hear him ask that and me answer, "sure, I'll bring them tomorrow!" One person even said..."but I thought you didn't have any roosters"!!! LOL!!!!!!!

When the contents are not that of a 'normal' egg then this has usually been caused by a bit of sloughed off material (often from an inflamed or irritated oviduct) having found its way into the reproductive tract, which will in turn stimulate the oviduct to produce albumen /'white' and form an eggshell around it. This 'rooster'egg' /"wind" egg will usually consist only of eggwhite, though on occasion you may see what appears to be a yolk-like substance at the core, around which the white and shell have formed. it is not and it will often be miscolored or apeared "cooked"...
I would not eat anything unless I was sure it is a proper yolk .

We sometimes get eggs from a friend at my wifes work and he has put 1-2 of the small ones in with the dozen and I have to agree they are cute and pretty darn tasty. Maybe I will get some from the chicks we are getting next week. Not sure what kind of chicks they will have but I think we are going to get like 3 or 4.
