I've raised many possom. They are very easy and are extremely cute at one stage (albeit a short one!) Possums need Esbilac or puppy milk replacer, not KMR. Because they are marsupials they are used to staying in mom's pouch and nursing alot! Fold them up in towels or let them crawl inside a sock to mimic mom's pouch. Have fun!

I would put equal effort in rehabbing a possum as I would in rehabbing a mouse, rat, coon, or black fly.

Mastitis is pretty ugly, but can look a bit like underused overfull tissue too. She was certainly unwell, for whatever reasons.

While I think saving baby mammals is a wonderful thing. I have no real love for possums since I had to get up a 2 AM to save a chicken from the mouth of a possum inside my coop walking away with her. The hen lived, the possum wasn't so lucky. He was a large male and I guess KFC was closed.
