Look At What My Daughter Is Getting For Christmas :) :) VIDEO ADDED P5

Oh, I want one. So cute. We had a Shetland Pony when I was a kid, we had to give him away after my grandfather died, Beauty was 22 at the time. He lived many more years after that.

Mini's can be ridden as long as you use caution. As a rule of thumb a mini can carry no more than 20-25% percent of it's own body weight and that includes the weight of tack. AMHA.org says no more than 70 pounds but I don't think you should say that every mini can carry 70 pounds, a 34" horse is going to be able to carry more than a shorter one, and a shorter mini that is fit and muscular would be able to carry more than a 34" mini that is completely out of shape. It's best to build muscle in them prior to having any weight put on their back.
They should not be ridden until they are past 3 years of age.

I adore Mini's

He's adorable!!!! Good luck!

Anyone remember the cell phone commercial last year (I think) where the teen girl asked for a cell phone and on Christmas day she's standing in the back yard, in the snow with her friends who each have their new cell phones in their hands and they are looking at her gift......A really mean mini pony who is eating it's own house! LOL, I showed my DD the pics of the pony on this thread and she reminded me of that commercial.

You can tell though that this is a really sweet pony. There's not a mean bone in his little pony body.

I can't wait to see the pics!

they say they are very smart!..they are even starting to use them in place of guide dogs now sometimes..

Thank you!!
Alexa is going to be 7 in March. She has had other minis before when she was younger that she rode but was never really interested in riding all she wanted to do was walk them around and brush them and stuff. Thats why we got her one so young because thats exactly what she can do lol. She could care less if she ever rode a horse haha.
Yes, that is a mini. He is a stallion right now but we are going to have him gelded as soon as he "drops".
Yes you can rife minis but there is a very strict weight limit on that, you dont want to go over 20% of the minis total weight. Most minis are trained to pull carts though.
