I have pullets starting to lay and hens re-starting after the broody episode. I have no idea who did this. Both are shell-less although the one is a bit thicker. They're connected by a tube like membrane..
Nothing to be alarmed about...just the hens getting back into the swing of things. ( or the pulets) I think its neat looking. If you have a cat, what a great treat for them!
Yes they have free choice oyster shell and the free range. I was afraid to feed it to the feral barn cat. Thought he might like it TOO much and get his own.
