Look what I found on my local CL 😍😍

I looked into the rent a goat thing too and it was soooo expensive or there just weren’t any in the area hahah
If you can find one like me, you can catch me at just the right time where I'd pay you to take them for a bit 🤣 They can be the ornerinest creatures known to man at times. Like a dog when they have zero regard for commands.

Oh my gosh. The quail at my place have reached a crazy level of obsession. I absolutely love them. I had a hard time with the idea of battery cages, so I ended up building a pretty substantial aviary for them. Still need to finish the trim, but shooting for a natural habitat of sorts.

The excess roosters will go to grow out cages. But I think I check every 5 mins for my first egg.

Then there is the current incubator situation..... 😑
Yes I very much dislike the idea of those cages or the wire bottom ones so I try my best to make it as natural as possible.

I don't know what it is about these guys that scares people. They are truly the bestest of boys. Like do you know of many males the size of Big Red that aren't gamefowl and can fly to your arm on command? He also really enjoys his head scritches
My second closest neighbor is a young lady maybe 25 years old. She came to my farm a single time asking to borrow a tool

Suddenly she froze, her eyes got wide, and I had no idea what was going on

I asked her what was wrong and she pointed about 10 feet in front of her at a fat, old Rhode Island Red hen

"Is it going to attack me?" she asked

This poor thing literally was scared shitless from this harmless, little red blob squatting on the ground

I can't imagine what she would do if she saw my Indio Gigante broodcock, or his 60 American Gamefowl, Asil and Junglefowl mixed babies running around in my woods right now

Hahahaha! I have all the compassion in the world for her. That was me, like three years ago. Chickens are different! All those beady eyes and darting heads! :)
