When I was a kid, my cousin (who is a year older than me) used to put them on her hand and come at me with them, just to watch me freak out. After we grew up and each got married, she and her DH came out to the farm to visit us. We went to the barn one evening to see the calves, and there were those GIANT barn spiders in the corners of the door. You know the ones... about the size of a baseball? Anyway, she was putting her hood up and tucking her pants into her socks. I said, "What are you doing? I thought you weren't afraid of spiders." She told me, "That was the only thing you were afraid of as a kid, so I figured it was worth it not to be."
