I cracked open the "whopper egg" this morning. The shell was very thin and the membrane was as tough as nails! It was horrible to try and crack open, which is why there is so much shell in with the cracked open contents. It did have a yolk the size of a pencil eraser and egg white. Here it is!

One of our red star hens has done that! The egg was all dried out. Must not be getting enough calcium. But it happened only once.
