hey- at least your hen's tiny egg wasn't empty inside!

One of our hens did the same thing. We cracked it open, all there really was was a large air sack space and some whites....

I was so glad to find this posting about the tiny little egg. My chicken just laid one of those, and had me worried about her. As long as this is something that commonly happens every now and then I guess I can stop worrying about her.

First of all....

Those eggs are called fart eggs, For a reason. They look like something your chicken farted instead of layed.....

Great color on that egg, I think they call them wind eggs or pardon my french, fart egg.

I love it when I find one of those cuties. I save them all... I call them "luck" eggs- much preferable to the common name!!!

I read somewhere they are called 'fairy eggs' - I definitely like that term!

We got one that tiny the other day too! I always write the date on the egg with a non toxic pencil.. I wrote... I'm Tryin!!! On that one!

I just got my first "fart egg" today too!! I am also waiting for DH to get home before I crack it to see what is inside! I found it in the run right after I put the boys on the bus this morning. I took it to work to show my co-workers and then couldn't wait for the boys to get home from school to show them.

I never thought I would get so excited over chickens! Or love them so much!
