Yes I plan to soak them in salt water this evening... will quarter and fry in garlic/butter. The kids didnt have any of the single one I cooked up last night, so I will have to make sure they dont eat much till I determine if they react to them or not. They will be mad about that...oh well!

Leave it to kids to use gourmet mushrooms as grenades! They look yummy (and huge!).

I thought mushroom season was over. I wonder if it's because you're in MN and I'm in MO. Morels are delish. I'm jealous.

What a goldmine. Morels are really expensive. I just Googled about them and they sell them frozen for $51.98 per pound! I used to live in the Napa Valley and morels sold in stores for over $20.00 per pound and are considered a real gourmet item. Google Morel Mushrooms and there is an actual website called the "The Great Morel". The website said that 2009 was not that good of a year but your boys proved them wrong. There is also a place to post pictures etc on the site. I have raised mushrooms myself and they say that once you get them started they will come up year after year so be on the lookout next year too!
