Someone "rescued" this fledgling Barred owl. They thought that it was injured because it could not fly well

. I know that they meant well, but I'm sure that his/her parents are wondering where he/she is. Thankfully, I work close to Lone Elk Park where the World Bird Sanctuary is located. They rehabilitate raptors. One of my co-workers dropped him/her off there this morning. Just wanted to share pics of this beautiful bird

for a happy ending. I hope that the parent birds have more chicks to care for and that this little one makes a quick and successful return to freedom.

Sure glad it has ended up in good hands.

Absolutly Beautiful! We had one at work one time (used to be a vet tech till a back injury), but it had passed before arriving. Lucky you to have a live owl in the office. Not many get to see one upclose. Glad there is a sanctuary near by. Thanks for posting!

Beautiful! We have a pair here at the new place (just moved out to the country) -- we've heard their "Who Cooks for You" call, and they woke us up a couple of nights with what we later identified as their spring courtship ritual. So we're hopeful it's a breeding pair and there will be little ones, even if we don't ever see them.
