Aww now what a wonderful way to wake up! I keep telling myself I am NOT doing anymore hatching until after the New Year,, just keep saying it,,,

These are buff orpingtons, got the eggs from Lady_life69. She sells alot of buff orp eggs on ebay. This bator is a 1590 preset hovabator. SHHHHHH dont tell anyone but I dont use a thermomerter OR hygrometer in it. Have 15 or so serama eggs in there too, about 10 serama have hatched since I took the pic.

That is it! I am so getting a HB, I have the worst time keeping my LG temps steady. They'll hum along great for 12 hours or more, then suddenly dip to 94 or go up to 103. It's about all I can handle, driving me nuts. Monday I'm calling Home And Barn basics (dh checked everywhere and they have the best price, shipped, *before* the BYC discount). I'm keeping the LG. If I have to have a hatcher because of staggered hatches, I'll use it and obsess for a few days at a time, but I cannot do this for the next month! (Muscovy eggs in there right now).

It is sooo unfair you are getting such great hatches without even stressing about temps.

So how many eggs total did you have and how many have hatched.

They just look beautiful. And without any monitoring? Wow... guess I'll look for a bator like that if I ever decide to hatch.

Oh yeah-the hova 1588 is sooooooo worth it! I never even look at the temps!

Well, we all know which incubator to get now! No checking and obsessing? That sounds like exactly what I'd need.

I have to say, all those fuzzy chicks are soooo cute! You're a lucky chicken "mama"!

I wonder how many are going to be roosters...?

I just got a 1588 in the mail with a turner this week! I can't wait to plug it in. Question- how often are you having to add water and how do you go about doing it?

Lately with our humidity I haven't been adding much water at all. A little usually goes a long way, but I'm sure in a drier climate it's going to be different. I most of the time don't add any at first while it's coming up to temp, that way I've got an idea about how much to add. If you've got your turner full of eggs it can be hard to see where to pour it. I marked with red magic marker on the bottom of the clear tray the channel that they tell you to put water in in the instructions....can't remember which one it is off the top of my head. When I need to add water I take an egg out and pour the water thru the egg hole into the red area. Not too much at a time tho.
